  About Me

Hello, my  name  is  Joe Young and I  live near  Douglas, Arizona, which is located  in  the  southeastern  corner of Arizona. The altitude here  on  the  floor of the Sulphur Springs Valley  is 4500 ft. We  are bordered on the east by the Chiricahua Mountains, on  the south  by the state of Sonora, Mexico, on  the west by  the Mule Mountains  and on the  north  by interstate 10 and  Willcox, AZ.  The  Sulphur Springs Valley  is  classified   as  "high grass lands". My  wife (Yvonne) and I moved here from Los Angeles, CA in 1988 after I closed my Electronic Engineering Consulting business and retired.

The Douglas area has much to offer, including  mild year-round weather, outdoor activities, historical sites and proximity to the state of Sonora, Mexico. In this area it possible to enjoy both American and Mexican cultures.

The distance from here to Tucson is 120 miles and from there you can be on your way to anywhere in the world by using the services provided at the Tucson International Airport.

Just to the south of Douglas you will find the state of Sonora, Mexico.

During the months of May through October we visit the White Mountains of East Central Arizona. The trip takes us through Willcox, Safford, Globe and the Salt River Canyon to Show Low, Arizona. The Show Low/Pinetop area has the largest stand of Ponderosa pines in the world and at an altitude of 6300 ft the summer weather is cool.
